"Osman Gazi-1" Opens For The Austal Family
Project Date: February 2007
With a fitting cultural theme in place for this year’s Austal Staff Open Day, (held on Saturday, 24 February) the “Osman Gazi-1” received a lot of attention from Austal’s extended family as one and all came out to enjoy the festivities.
“Osman Gazi-1” impressed new comers to the yard as well as veterans to the Austal fleet. Popular spots included the bridge deck as well as the first class seating area.
The highlight of the Open Day was seeing Hull 295 under construction in the shed and then her completed sister (“Osman Gazi-1”) on the jetty.
Austal employees and their guests also enjoyed entertainment from Irish Dancers and Belly Dancers as well as first aid displays from the Lakeland Cadet unit and a very impressive drum display from the TS Perth Cadets.
Children were entertained by a magician, face painters and the Lions Club Train which took passengers on an extra special trip into the shed and under Hull 295.
Congratulations to the winners of the PMH raffle. In total we raised $1420.00 for the PMH Foundation.
This raffle wouldn't have been possible without the support of our sponsors - Ayes Composite Panels, Beurteaux, DNV, Energy Power Systems, GL, MTU, Onesteel, Stirlings and our electronics partner, Rick Hart.

Events such as the Austal Staff Open Day wouldn't be possible without volunteers. A big thank you goes out to all of the Austal volunteers who helped to make the day a huge success.
