4th Fleet Says Joint High Speed Vessel is a Perfect Match
NAVAL STATION MAYPORT, Fla. (NNS) -- The Navy's first joint high-speed vessel, USNS Spearhead (JHSV 1), made a brief stop at Naval Station Mayport Feb. 14 to introduce the ship to Commander, U.S. 4th Fleet on its way to its new homeport in Little Creek, Va.
The port call is an opportunity for senior officials and military personnel from U.S. 4th Fleet to visit the ship and receive capability briefings for future operational planning.

Coronado (LCS 4) completes main engine light-off
On October 5, 2012, Austal completed main engine light off of the two MTU 9,100kW 20V 8000 M71 propulsion diesel engines and the two 22,000kW GE LM2500 gas turbine engines on the 127-meter Littoral Combat Ship Coronado (LCS 4). The light-off of the main engines follows the fuel load and the testing of all four generators.

US military exercises charter option on Austal high speed vessel
The United States Military Sealift Command (MSC) has exercised the first of three six months options for the ongoing charter of the Austal high speed vessel “WestPac Express”. The option forms part of a 24 month contract that Austal was awarded in December 2011.

Austal Joint High Speed Vessel USNS Spearhead (JHSV 1) completes Builder's Sea Trials
USNS Spearhead (JHSV 1), the innovative high-speed catamaran transport ship under construction by shipbuilder Austal in Mobile, Alabama, successfully completed Builder's Sea Trials (BST) on April 19 in the Gulf of Mexico. The trials encompassed over 50 demonstration events that enabled the shipbuilder to rigorously test the ship and all of its systems in preparation for final inspection by the United States Navy before delivery.
