Austal workers are encouraged to support the community through participating in local events and supporting worthwhile local projects.
 
Austal's people are its greatest asset and the company encourages its staff and their families to take every opportunity to be active in the local community. As a company Austal sponsors many of the local events and projects in which its staff are involved.
 
There is a lot more to Austal than just winning big contracts and building big boats. The company is focused on supporting community initiatives wherever and whenever it can.

• Austal USA Shrimp Cookoff - held to benefit 'Hands on Alabama' Austal USA employees participated in the annual Mobile Shrimp Cookoff which was held to benefit 'Hands on Alabama' charity.
• 2011 Austal Staff Joyride Almost 300 Austal staff enjoyed a joyride aboard Austal's 102 metre Next Generation Trimaran on April 21, 2011, while raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis research.
• 2011 Fishing Competition The Annual Austal Fishing Competition was held on March 26, 2011. After 4 cancellations due to bad weather we were blessed with a day of perfect conditions.
• Austal Propels Badgingarra Pupils Towards National Success Austal’s Henderson-based research and development team has been helping a group of year 7 pupils at Badgingarra Primary School to improve the aerodynamics and performance of their balsawood model F1 car ahead of a national competition to be held in Sydney in 2011.
• 15 & 20 year Retrospective Service Recognition Presentation The inaugural 15 & 20 Year Retrospective Service Recognition lunch was held on Tuesday February 8, 2011 in the Austal Boardroom to recognise, acknowledge and express appreciation of employee dedication, commitment and service.
• Fremantle Hospital Visit Austal staff were invited to take part in a special visit of the Fremantle Hospital Medical Research Foundation’s facilities as part of the Company’s continued support of the Freo Doctor Lottery charity.
• Austal Staff Celebrate Movember Austal staff recently participated in Movember 2010 to raise money and awareness for Men’s Health.
• Austal Opens Doors To Community The chance to inspect the world’s largest aluminium shipyard saw more than 3000 people visit the Austal Ships facility in Henderson on Saturday for the company’s Community Open Day.
• 2008 Fishing Competition Held on Saturday 3rd May, the annual Austal Fishing Competition was once again enjoyed by all in attendance.
• Free Check-Up For Iron Overload As reward for raising more than $30,000 for the Fremantle Hospital Medical Research Foundation, Austal Staff received a free blood test for iron overload, during a visit by Foundation researchers on August 16.
• Austal Staff Joyride Almost 300 Austal employees enjoyed a congratulatory Staff Joyride aboard "Orhan Gazi-1", with management putting on a sausage sizzle afterwards.
• Hawaii Superferry Charity Day Austal raised $136,000 for the Ronald Mcdonald House of Mobile.
• 2007 Fishing Competition Held on Saturday 17 March, the annual Austal Fishing Competition was enjoyed by all in attendance.
• "Osman Gazi-1" Opens For The Austal Family With a fitting cultural theme in place for this years Staff Open Day, "Osman Gazi-1" received a lot of attention from Austal's extended family.
• Austal USA Celebrates 1,000 Employee Goal On July 3 2007, Austal USA celebrated the breaking of the 1,000 employee mark with an onsite cookout for all of its employees.
• Austal Staff Christmas Party Austal's Annual Staff Christmas party, held at Adventure World, was a huge success with the night being enjoyed by everyone that attended.
• Austal Staff Participate in Recreational Skippers Ticket Course Austal teamed with Challenger TAFE to provide a quick, easy and economical solution for Austal employees requiring their Recreational Skippers Ticket.
• 2006 Austal Golf Day The Austal Golf Day was held on the 17 September 2006 at the Kwinana Golf Club.
• Health Matters At Austal At Austal ‘our people are our greatest asset’ and when it comes to the health and well-being of workers, this company value holds particularly true.
• 2006 Austal Fishing Competition The 2006 Austal fishing competition was a tremendous success with 20 boats and 60 keen fisherman involved.
• Freo Doctor Lottery Austal Employees have been supporting the Fremantle Hospital and winning at the same time.
