In 2017 our team in Australia established the ‘Austal Giving’ committee - a platform for the company and its employees to invest in our local communities.
‘Austal Giving’ leverages our people and business' capabilities to improve opportunities for employment, learning, wellbeing and the environment.
United States
Supported by six pillars of their community support strategy: community impact, economic development, education & workforce development, environmental, health & wellness, and veteran & military support, our team in the USA invests in over 50 local non-profits through giving and support each year.
One of the many ways they give back to the community is through the annual Austal USA Charity Golf Invitational. This event, held each spring for over a decade, has raised over $2.7 million for local non-profit organizations, including long-time event partner United Way of Southwest Alabama.
Philippines
Our team in the Philippines established the Austal Community Engagement Program, an initiative designed to engage our local community through activities such as donations, training and career development, and employee volunteering.

Adopt a school program
In 2023, we launched the Adopt A School Program, selecting a school in a remote area of the Philippines at the beginning of each year to support through donations such as facility renovations and resource supplies.
Tree planting
To commemorate Philippine Arbor Day, our team participate annually in West Cebu Estate’s Tree Planting Activity. They dedicate their collective time and effort in promoting a greener tomorrow for our communities. This initiative aims to plant between 2,500 and 3,000 seedlings each year.
Coastal clean up
To celebrate International Coast Clean Up Day, our team participate in West Cebu Estate’s Simultaneous Coastal Clean Up through. This activity promotes environmental awareness, protect marine life, engages communities and educates people about the importance of keeping our oceans clean.
Brigada Eskwela
Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide volunteer program that brings together teachers, parents, students, community members, local governments and private organisations to prepare public schools for the opening of classes. Our team, through our employee volunteers, participate in this initiative hoping to contribute meaningfully to the schools’ goal of providing a clean, safe and nurturing environment for our young learners.
